Starting where tuvuga is needed the most

tuvuga’s initial focus is Global Healthcare. In countries with multiple, interrelated factors which impact disease and block solutions including poverty, disparities, economic inequality, lack of awareness, education, access, and resources, the need for quality healthcare is dire. The initial emphasis at BETA launch will be on Cancer and non-communicable diseases – removing the language barriers and understanding cultural sensitivities. tuvuga is working with a number of Global health organizations which represent a massive ecosystem in over 150 countries.

tuvuga is people-centric and therefore, patient-centric, designed and built to bring together those in need with those who have the ability for transformative change. It is intended to give everyone a ‘seat at the table’ and create, through the platform, a Global ecosystem speaking and working as ONE community, without barriers, using everyday technology. Vetted by healthcare experts, reliable information from credible content sources would be readily available for those seeking to build up knowledge base or alternative strategies for treatments.

Over the last 18 months tuvuga has been collaborating with many of the world’s leading organizations and leaders in Global Healthcare and Cancer, such as Patient Power, International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO), Capracare, Latin American and Carribean Society of Medical Oncology (SLACOM), Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), Dana Farber and Global Oncology.

tuvuga’s Healthcare Mobile Solution

Many major healthcare organizations have recognized the immense growth opportunities in Africa and have begun to seed in expansion plans for that region. So it was only natural that tuvuga create a special Global Healthcare app that can meet the challenges of Africa’s infrastructure.

Enter Loic Assobmo, Masters of Science in the Boston College Graduate School of Nursing, up-and-coming millennial healthcare entrepreneur and tuvuga’s Executive Director for Initiatives in Africa. Loic is the visionary behind the Global Enterprise for Medical Advancement (GEMA) which is focused on identifying and addressing the problems facing medical institutions in Africa. He was inspired by a personal experience in his native Cameroon, of his mother suffering a stroke and not receiving ample care due to lack of nearby credible hospitals and other necessary resources.

tuGEMA (Global Enterprise for Medical Advancement), will be starting out as an SMS-based mobile health solution focused on providing healthcare to all with mobile phones. In partnership with VotoMobile, tuGEMA’s first phase will take place in Africa where access is a challenge in remote rural areas that lack healthcare infrastructure, resources and knowledge, and where potential for healthcare growth is highest.
