How farmers in Bangladesh survive despite rising water level

Bangladesh is home to the world's largest river delta and prone to frequent, devastating flooding. Farmers here are expanding an ancient technique of building floating farms that simply rise and fall with the swelling waters. In times of rising sea levels, could this offer a solution to food security problems?

Pulling Clean Drinking Water out of thin air

A California-based team of designers has built a shipping container that can harvest enough water from the air to satisfy 100 people's daily needs.


Architect David Hertz and his colleague, Rich Groden, recently received $1.5 million as the winners of the Water Abundance XPrize, a competition that aims to help alleviate global water shortages. (more)
